1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
Um passed a year of medical school?? Get kicked out of a train car by a band of gypsies at midnight in my PJs….the list goes on.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t make New Year’s resolutions really…

3. Did anyone close to you give birth or get pregnant?
I had two friends miscarry babies this year it was very sad.

4. Did anyone close to you get married?
Julie Lawrence! Lauren Ramier!! Rachel Adams! ….and thats just since Sept…

5. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope. Although a family friend died two days ago but she was very old and sick so its a mixed blessing. We are happy she is not suffering.

6. Travel?
Romania, Austria, Hungary…lots of trips to various NC locales…the VA and NC coast to see my grandparents, Houston and Galveston TX for a wedding, conference in KY, camping with my family in Vermont

7. Did you move anywhere?
I moved to & from Romania for the summer.

8. What was the best month?
Um….well Lets say June: orphans, city life, meeting Aurel, crazy train trip to Austria and Hungary

9. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Less panicking about school more enjoyment of the moment…less car wrecks (as in NONE)

10. What date(s) from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I am bad with dates…um lets see… approx dates: Feb 20 (Bethany comes to visit me!! We go see Bliss!!!) March 20 (Mom’s show/wrist surgery/chaos), May22 (leave for Romania), July 19 (come home :( ), July 22 (harry potter, reunited with all my family), August 8th (awesome road trip with Karen and BE) Sept 21 (Lauren’s Wedding/Parables Girls Take on TX), Oct 5 (lovely birthday celebration), Oct 26 (car incident)

11. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
well I passed a year of medical school…and then I survived various adventures and escpades

12. What was your biggest failure?
Panicking, panicking and panicking…general lack of trust in me, God, the universe, etc

13. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Thankfully NO. Although I did finally get my wrist fixed due to a 2006 incident in Katrina ravaged MS involving a football…

14. What was the best thing you bought?
buying is such  relative term considering I have so little money that is really not the bank’s or my parents…but my car with anti-lock breaks and four wheel drive is the practical item I am most grateful for, on a frivolous note a Eurorail three country pass was my favorite  purchase of the year.

15. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My parents for putting up with me on so many levels, old friends for supporting me and loving me no matter how melodramatic and insane I truly am

16. Whose behavior made you appalled and/or depressed?
the turf war between the charities in the Romania orphanage depresses me to this day among other things…

17. Where did most of your money go?
Money? What Money? The Loans and the left overs of my college fund go to rent, food, gas and my book addiction.  I saved money for years for the train trip and my grant money paid for food and bus fare in Romania.

18. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Lots of things: Bethany coming and meeting Bliss, End of First Year, Romania, Train Trip, Harry Potter Book 7, Camping in Vermont, LK and my Roadtrip, In two Weddings, etc…I get excited easily!!

19. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Into the West-By The Thorns

20. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? sort of the same
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter…boo

iii. richer or poorer?sort of the sam.
21. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Writing (ditto Brittany), scrapbooking, picture taking

22. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Gossiped (ditto Brittany), panicked, facebook

23. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve/Day?
Watched a movie and played games with my family snacking on a variety of seasonal snacks and left overs

24. What was an unexpected surprise?
hmmm meeting the British aide worker who took over my place at the orphanage on the plane home

25. Did you fall in love in 2007?
I fell in love with some cute little kids and in love with BIG TRAIN chai tea…that’s about it.

26. What was the best concert you’ve been to this year?
ummm…well..Reliant K I guess but simply because that was the only concert I went to

27. What was your favorite TV program?
HOUSE MD!!!!! :)

28. Do you dislike anyone now that you didn’t dislike this time last year?
yep.

29. What was the best book you read?
The Irresistible Revolution, Mountains Beyond Mountains, A Thousand Splendid Suns (its never just one book)

30. What was your greatest musical discovery?
too many…..however finding the 3 yr old Romanian pop star videos on you tube was pretty great on the level of hilarity.

31. What did you want and get?
more than I deserve, many blessings :)

32. What did you want and not get?
um…well not wrecking my car would have been nice.

33. What was your favorite film of this year?
HP 5, Amazing Grace (I think it was actually at end of 2006)

34. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Studied for my Cardiac final turned 23, then the next day I partied with friends and minus the religion throw down at the after party had a nice time.

35. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
People being upfront

36. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?  well it had several phases: med school (whatever is clean or mostly clean and comfortable), Romania (professional attire that requires the least amt of actual clothing possible becuase its 100 degrees outside for 2 straight months with little to no air conditioning or air conditioners that break down perpetually and the directions are in a language that no one can understand) , various other times when I had time to care: my attempt to not dress like a 12 yr old.

37. What kept you sane?
My friends & family, a lot of prayer, a lot of books, chai tea and above all endless grace.

38. What political issue stirred you the most?
The meshing of Religion and politics on the home front

Corruption both in good ole Wallachia and at home.

39. Who did you miss?
….so many people and places and moments.
